| Graduation Requirements
|
| A. Eligibility for Graduation |
| Students planning to graduate
must meet their advisor to review their degree and certificate programs.
The advisor will indicate on the advising sheet if the student can
apply for graduation. If the student is eligible, he/she must apply
for graduation with the Admissions and Records Office by the assigned
deadline and pay a graduation fee. The Admissions and Records Office
will determine if the student’s academic requirements have been
completed. |
| B. General Education
Credits |
| The total general education
credits required for an Associate of Arts degree is 50-51. The remaining
courses required to obtain the minimum 60 credits for graduation are
courses identified as program requirements or as electives. |
| The general education requirements
for all Associate of Science programs are comprised of the following
courses numbered 150 or above: |
ENG 150 Introduction to Literature
ENG 151 Freshman Composition
One Math or Science course (specified by program of study)
One Social Science, Humanities or SAMPAC course
One three-credit Computer Science course
One one-credit Physical Education course

| The remaining courses required
to obtain the minimum 60 credits for graduation are courses identified
as program requirements. |
| The general education requirements
for a Certificate of Proficiency are comprised of one Math and one
English course specified by the selected program of study. The remaining
courses required to obtain the minimum 30 credit hours for graduation
are the program requirements, specified by the individual certificate
programs. |
| C. Program Credits |
| All specified program requirements
must be completed for the Associate of Science degree and the Certificate
of Proficiency (refer to Associate of Science section pages 88-89
for a detailed outline for specific program requirements). |
| D. Residency Credits |
| At least 15 credits must be
completed at ASCC. |
| E. Grade Point Average |
| A student must have a Cumulative
Grade Point of 2.0 or higher for all coursework. |
| Exceptions |
| Business majors must complete
all Business courses in each program of study with a “C”
grade or better in order to graduate. |
| Nursing majors must complete
all prerequisites and Nursing courses for Practical Nursing (PN) and
Registered Nursing (RN) programs with a “C” grade or better. |
| F. Clearance |
| Prospective graduates are
required to clear all ASCC obligations (outstanding fees, refund or
PELL grant or FSEOGG overpayment, overdue/lost library book fees,
etc.) and all other encumbrances. |
