| Program, Policy, and Fee Changes |
| The American Samoa Community College reserves the
right to change policies, programs or fees, as approved by the BHE,
without previous written notice. |
| Attendance Policy |
| Students are expected to be present and prompt for
every class. Tardiness may constitute an absence. The amount of tardiness,
in minutes, is at the discretion of each instructor. The students
are expected to attend all classes and laboratories for which they
are registered each semester in order to remain enrolled in the classes
and to receive final grades. The number of class absences permitted
is at the discretion of the instructor, per the class syllabus. (Please
refer to the policies on administrative drop, adding, dropping, withdrawing
and stopped/non-attendance. VA students, refer to the Veterans Educational
Benefits section for additional attendance requirements.) |
| Stopped/Non-Attendance |
| A grade of “F” will be recorded if a student
stops attending or never attends a class, or exceeds the maximum allowable
absences, and does not properly drop or withdraw from the class. Please
refer to the individual class syllabus for the attendance policy. |
| Students’ last dates of attendance are periodically
collected from the instructors by the Admissions and Records Office.
In addition, instructors are required to report a student’s
last date of attendance when they assign that student a final grade
of “F”, “W”, or “NP”. The date
of last attendance is not recorded on the transcript, but is made
available to the Financial Aid Office for recipients of Federal Financial
Aid as required by Federal Law. |
