| Valedictorian /Salutatorian
Criteria |
| Valedictorian and Salutatorian distinctions
are granted to students who have earned the highest Cumulative
Grade Point Averages (CGPA) and who have met the criteria listed
below. The CGPA are calculated out to three digits past the
decimal and rounded up at 5. For example, a CGPA of 3.966 would
round up to 3.97, and a CGPA of 3.962 would round down to 3.96. |
.1. All credits must have been taken
at ASCC prior to graduation.
2. Credits earned by examination, transfer courses from other
institutions and challenged courses are not considered credits
taken at ASCC and therefore would disqualify a student .
3. A student must complete his/her degree program within five
(5) consecutive semesters. Summer sessions are not included.
4. The student must have no “F”, “W/F”
or repeated (R) grades.
5. A maximum of three (3) withdrawals are allowed.

| Commencement
Degrees and certificates are publicly awarded biannually at
fall and spring commencement exercises. After applying for
and being admitted to candidacy, it is expected that candidates
attend their commencement exercises. Only students who have
completed the clearance for graduation and who have met all
the academic requirements will be permitted to participate
in the commencement exercises. |
