| The Social Science Department provides students with introductory information in history, sociology, anthropology, geography and education. The department provides a diverse spectrum of courses acquaiting students with their places in historical processes, cultural developments, interrelationships amongst people and the dynamics of societal elements reflected in social, religious, political and technological progress.
The program offers an Associate of Arts in Political Science and transferable courses for students planning to further their education at off-island colleges and universities.

PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of courses and the degree program requirements, students will be able to:
- explain general concepts, theories, models and ideas;
- write, speak and present information;
- conduct, research, process information and present appropriate findings;
- understand and appreciate the development of societies, cultures and human histories; and,
- understand and build on social skills such as team work, community service and interpersonal communication
