| Student Government Association |
| Participation in the
Student Government Association (SGA) of ASCC is open to all
enrolled students. The Student Government Association is governed
by the executive officers and the representatives, who are elected
from the freshmen and sophomore classes. Representatives from
SGA also serve on several faculty committees. A student representative
is also a member of the Board of Higher Education. |
 |
| SGA sponsors a number of activities
each year, including the Miss ASCC pageant, Samoan Day, the
Christmas Ball, assemblies and dances. Funding for these activities
comes from student activity fees collected during registration. |
|
| The election for the SGA positions of President, Vice
President, Secretary, Treasurer and the Student Representative to
the Board of Higher Education is held during the second semester of
each year. If the election is not held during the second semester,
the executive officers and the representatives will be elected during
the first semester. |
| Students interested in serving as an executive officers
must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA at the time of election. Any full-time
student who maintains a 2.5 GPA and is in good academic standing is
eligible to serve in the Student Government Association. SGA applications
are available from the office of the Dean of Student Services. |
